Katy Perry Shares How She Deals With Hate And Negativity As An Artist!

The singer revealed how she deals with hate as a public person and also shared some of the most important lessons she’s learned from being part of the music industry. Here’s what she had to say!

Katy Perry is a very successful performer and that also comes with haters.

While at the American Idol Premiere event at The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel earlier this month, she revealed how she copes with the negativity.

As it turns out, ‘I believe in therapy. I believe in meditation. I believe in self care. I believe in taking the stillness, the time, just being able to assess what’s real. Something someone told me which changed my life was that nobody can make you believe something about yourself you don’t already believe. So if someone says you are a fat, ugly bi**h, and it affects you, do you think about yourself that way? So get to the bottom of it. There you go.’

And since she is a judge on American Idol, she has apparently been trying to share some of that wisdom with the contestants.

‘I think really authenticity is the golden rule, staying true to yourself, having a great support system…If you don’t have family, make it your friends. Create a team of people who play both the devil’s advocate and also are supportive.’

Of course, she touched upon the fact that being famous is very different from what it mean a decade ago since nowadays, through social media, the trolls have direct access to a star’s head so they have to be really mentally prepared.

‘You can look put together and beautiful and be crumbling on the inside,’ the singer mentioned, wisely.
