CelebMix Twitter Fandom Awards 2018 Winner: @LouisTommo1DUK - Best Zayn Fan Account

The CelebMix Twitter Fandom Awards 2018 wrapped up a few weeks ago, and since then we’ve moved into the interview stages where we interview each of the winners on their big win. We had the absolute pleasure to chatting with the beautiful minds behind @LouisTommo1DUK, Mariel, Augusta, Hallie, Rawda, Areej, Gamze, Isa,  Gia, Kathleen, Minna, Soph, and Dani, on their massive win in the Best Zayn Fan Account category.

Read on to find out what they had to say about winning big and what life is like being a part of the Zquad!

Q: When did you start @LouisTommo1DUK and what compelled you to make an update account?

A: [DANI – OWNER] I created the first update account for the boys and Zayn in 2011, but that account was hacked; then I created LouisTommo1DUK in May of 2012. I created this update account because I literally fell in love with those beautiful boys, and I was really interested on updating about them, share their music, and everything about them with the world. Hailie and Rawda joined the account on February 17th, 2017. Isa joined the account on November 28th, 2013, Areej joined the account sometime last year, and Gamze joined on November 11th, 2017.

Q: How has owning an update account impacted your life?

A: Owning an update account impacted our life because we need to check our phone every hour, every minute, every second, to see if there’s something to update (by the way it’s more like a job, a really fun one). It’s really entertaining and gives us something to focus on during our day.  Sometimes we feel some pressure because we need to update something whenever we see anything new.

Q: What does being an update account mean to you?

A: It means responsibility towards those who you follow and that you should keep people updated anytime. Also that you can help everyone who’s interested in Zayn and the boys. It means a lot honestly being able to update on the people you love to many others.

Q: What do you enjoy most about @LouisTommo1DUK?

A: The replies our updates get and interactions with all the admins, the beautiful friends we’ve made, and being constantly not bored because you always have something to do which is fun.

Q: Give us a quick break down on the daily life of being an update account? Do you have a day to day routine on where to get updates first or do you just update on whatever you see first?

A: So what I usually do is I get up and I first check my Instagram notifications (since that’s the easiest update), and in my notes on my phone I type up a draft of the beginning of the tweet, then I save the videos & pictures and I put the caption in, then I just copy and paste from my notes onto Twitter! But for HQ photos I usually save all of them and then draft up the tweet and once again copy and paste.

Q: What do you love most about Zayn?

A: I love everything about him. His love for the music and how passionate he is. I also love his personality. He doesn’t care about what other people think, he only thinks on his happiness and that’s all that matters.

Q: When did you become a fan? How did you hear about him?

A: We all became fans in between 2011 and 2013 from their music videos on Youtube, and people around us recommending the boys to us.

Q: Do you like collaborating with other accounts or have you ever collaborated with other accounts? Would you consider it if you haven’t?

A: Yes, we have collaborated lately with an update account for a birthday project and it was great! We are always open for suggestions and would love to collab especially if it is for a project.

Q: Was there ever a point down the road where you wanted to delete @LouisTommo1DUK? If so, what made you want to keep the account instead of deleting it?

A: I don’t think anyone on the account has ever wanted to give up, because it has become part of us. Maybe some of us did want to take a break, because it gets a little too much sometimes, but being part of an update account is a beautiful way to show your love for the boys. And with owning an update account you can support them in so many different ways.

Q: What was your first reaction when you found out you had been nominated for a CelebMix Twitter Fandom Award, and what was your reaction when you found out you won?

A: We were very surprised and honoured to have been nominated, but the thought of winning was far away from our thoughts. When Hailie told us about the nominations, we were thrilled to know that we were nominated. When we got the message saying we won, we literally freaked out and were very happy to have such an award. It really means a lot to us to get acknowledge by CelebMix and we could not be more thankful.

Q: Where do you see @LouisTommo1DUK in the upcoming years? Do you think you’ll still be updating through your account?

A: I think in few years LouisTommo1DUK will get bigger, better, and more improved due to our skills in updating; we will definitely grow. Our family has grown bigger and it’s a good thing for the account; we are not going anywhere. We will always be here to update on Zayn and One Direction.

A: Thank you very much to everyone who has voted and to the one that didn’t. To the ones who liked even one of our tweets, and to the ones who follow us, we couldn’t have gotten here it wasn’t for you so thank you very much, especially for every single interaction you have ever made on LouisTommo1DUK. To Zayn, thank you for giving us a purpose in life, for being such a talented inspiration to us and many others of your fans we have met each other because of you, and if it weren’t for how incredible you are, we wouldn’t be here.
