Bode Miller Explains How His And Wife Morgans Other Kids Have Helped With Their Recovery After Da

Even though they have a big family and are also expecting another baby, the pain of losing their daughter to drowning last year is still very much present. However, Bode Miller and his wife are slowly managing to move on with the help of their young ones.

During a new interview with HollywoodLife, the man updated fans on the state of his family more than year after the tragedy that took daughter Emeline away from them at the age of just 19 months.

The child drowned in a pool in June of 2018 and not a day passes that the parents do not think about her.

At the same time, they are slowly recovering and adjusting to this ‘new normal.’

About the healing process, Bode told the news outlet that ‘Things are good. I mean we have a really tight group.’

He went on to dish that his wife’s parents have been of great help as well.

The father mentioned how their kids growing up every day and just being in their lives have helped a lot with the recovery.

‘We had Easton and Morgan was heavily pregnant with him when Emmy passed away. So, you know, we had that sort of immediate distraction that you just couldn’t ignore. Morgan really wanted to do right by Easton, and she had to take care of herself, which was, I think a challenge because any traumatic thing like that you’re just like — you go into like a weird shock, really. You stop eating, and there’s all these other things that are really hard to manage,’ Bode added.

‘When you have something that’s so demanding like a pregnancy and then when he was born things move forward — that pulls you forward.’

Otherwise, as far as he’s concerned, that kind of tragedy would have made them feel stuck in the moment and not be able to move on.

While ‘it’s been tough’ and challenging to get over it, ‘in terms of the family unit, it couldn’t have gone any better,’ so each day, the mourning parents are getting better at dealing with the loss of their daughter.
